Among the people director Maura Elizabeth Manning is seeking for Bowen Park Theatre’s spring production of “Boesman and Lena” is a fight master (someone who coordinates and choreographs stage fights). The script calls for a number of violent confrontations.
“A great deal is happening on stage. It has to be coordinated pretty carefully,” Manning said.
When Manning included an ad for a fight master with “an intimate knowledge of hand-to-hand combat” among the audition notices last month, she received a few interesting resumes, “including one from a man who did Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat II,” she said, referring to a popular video series. The play opens March 3.
