Residents of a senior citizen housing center are fighting the threatened closure of a drugstore.
About 125 seniors from Oak Tree Towers, 1120 Warren Ave., signed and presented a petition last week to management at Walgreens, 5139 Main St., asking that the downtown drugstore not close.
The company announced last month that because of decreasing sales, the 36-year-old store would close when its lease expires early next year.
