Senior center Shelly Clark’s legal woes appear to be continuing. Clark was pulled over by university police Tuesday morning, according to an athletic department spokesman, allegedly for running a stop sign on campus.

Police also charged him with driving on suspended licenses from Illinois and Iowa and with a failure to produce proof of insurance or registration. Clark played junior-college basketball in Iowa before enrolling at Illinois.

Coach Lou Henson said Clark simply failed to reinstate the Illinois driver’s license after a previous traffic offense several months ago, and that Tuesday’s incident will not affect the player’s status.

Clark was arrested in October after he allegedly forced his way into a former girlfriend’s apartment, but those charges were dropped.
