Uneasy rider: Interim Supt. Richard Kolze of Antioch High School District 117 is willing to make anyone a great deal on his all-terrain vehicle (like a motorcycle with four wheels). He fell out of love with the machine a few weeks ago at his retreat in northern Wisconsin when the thing ran over his leg as he tried to steady himself.
The bottom line: His left leg is broken just above the ankle; he won’t be joyriding anymore.
“I’m an old guy playing young kids’ game,” said the 64-year-old from Palatine, now walking the school halls on crutches. “It takes some getting used to, but the kids have been real understanding.”
