The verdict is in. After a year of travel and research, the restaurant critic of the International Herald-Tribune in Paris, Patricia Wells, has named the world’s best restaurants.

On assignment for the paper, she narrowed a large list down to 10 top-end and 10 casual restaurants.

She included one Chicago establishment on the casual list: Frontera Grill came in at No. 3. Here are the other winners.
