Assistant Cook County State’s Atty. Catherine Crowley released the videotapes in the Skokie branch of Circuit Court at the request of the defense attorney, who as a matter of law routinely reviews the evidence in the prosecution’s case before trial.
Saenz, 19, of Park Ridge, is being held in Cook County Jail and has been charged with sexually assaulting underaged youths in Illinois and Michigan and videotaping the assaults.
Saenz has been charged in a 13-count Cook County indictment alleging that he drugged two girls, aged 12 and 13, on July 18 and videotaped his alleged sexual assault on one girl. He has also been charged in an 11-count indictment alleging that he drugged a 13-year-old boy and sodomized the boy while videotaping the assault on June 28.
In Michigan, Saenz and another man have been named in a warrant charging them with videotaping themselves having sex with an unconscious girl in a St. Joseph-area motel, authorities said.
