Fall is in the air, and so is a lot of comedy stuff. So leaf through this:

– Local comic Mike Ostrowski wrote us a little letter about a restaurant/sports bar with one-night comedy shows that he was really psyched about.

Tubilou’s, in south surburban Matteson, “works somehow as a comedy club,” Ostrowski wrote. “I’ve done lots of shows there and never had a bad one yet, knock on wood. People really do come to be entertained there, and that makes any comic’s job easier.”

We got the owner of Tubilou’s, Louis Perakis, on the phone.

“(We’re) offering something different to the public,” Perakis said. “Trying to get an earlier crowd. We’ve got a great dance crowd after 9:30-10 o’clock at night. But I had wanted to do something with the dinner (crowd).”

Tubilou’s, which offers food and drinks seven nights a week, has been offering comedy on Saturdays ever since last year, Perakis said. He’s had both local and national acts appearing in a room that holds about 150 people.

Mike Ostrowski is performing at 8 p.m. this Saturday. The place is at 200 Town Center Rd., one block south of U.S. Highway 30 on Cicero Avenue. Call 708-747-9800 for more information.

– Tom Dreesen is holding court for the “Bike ‘n’ Hike for Darlene” on Sunday. The late Darlene Bethman, who suffered from multiple sclerosis, was Dreesen’s sister.

Dreesen’s “Day for Darlene” was started more than a decade ago, when the Harvey-bred comic got involved with the Chicago-Greater Illinois chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The Illinois chapter has this year combined its 21st annual “Bike ‘n’ Hike” event with Dreesen’s “Darlene” campaign, all in an effort to raise more than $250,000, which would go towards research and local client service programs involved with MS.

Registration is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., with 9 a.m. Sunday as the official starting time. Route lengths vary from 10 to 34 miles and include the Chicago lakefront and locations in Elk Grove Village, Oak Forest, Du Page County and Joliet. For more information, call 312-922-8000.

– This weekend is a rare opportunity to see three big-time headliners performing in Chicago and the suburbs.

Making a rare comedy club appearance on Friday and Saturday is Tommy Davidson, one of the stars of Fox-TV’s “In Living Color,” as well as his own well-received Showtime special. Davidson will be at All Jokes Aside, 1000 S. Wabash Ave. Call 312-922-0577 for details.

Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham is bringing his buddies Peanut, Walter and Jose Jalapeno-On-A-Stick to the Paramount Arts Centre in Aurora on Saturday. Dunham will perform one show at 8 p.m. Call 708-896-6666 for other details.

Bill Bellamy is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville, Ind., I-65 and U.S. 30. Call 219-769-6311 or 312-721-4600.
