A Warrenville businessman was sentenced to four years of probation Wednesday for bilking dentists out of about $204,000, authorities said.
Howard Olson, 51, was also ordered by Judge Eugene Wojcik to pay restitution to the 13 dentists and perform 150 hours in community service.
Olson pleaded guilty to one count of theft by deception.
Olson ran a Warrenville-based company called The Horizon Group that brokered the sale of dental practices.

Olson was accused of accepting money from dentists as down payments on dental practices and telling them he would hold the money in escrow. But Olson spent the money instead, said DuPage County Assistant State’s Atty. Kathryn Creswell.
Olson said most of the money he took was for work he performed, said his defense attorney, Jack Donahue.
