Richards 47, Oak Lawn 20: Dwayne Goodrich returned the opening kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown to spark the No. 9 Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0) in the SICA North. Richards scored on all six of its first-half possessions to take a 41-8 lead.

Demitrius Smith carried six times for 65 yards and two touchdowns. Lael Booth ran 10 times for 65 yards and one score. Kenny Carrington had three catches for 58 yards and one TD. Richards recorded eight sacks for 52 yards.

“We won the game, and that’s about all that counts,” said Richards coach Gary Korhonen. “I’m just glad we got out of here with nobody hurt.”

New Trier 28, Highland Park 6: Mark Agnew was 11 for 20 for 204 yards and three touchdowns to pace New Trier (2-1) to the non-conference victory. Brian Doll caught six passes for 153 yards and one score.

“I was happy with the second half, but I thought in the first half we lost some intensity,” said New Trier coach Dan Mortier. “The key to the game was scoring on the first possession of the second half (after Highland Park scored with :06 left in first half-New Trier led 14-6 at halftime). We needed to move the football, and we took control in the second half. We came out and executed, and that’s what we needed to do.”

Lake Forest Academy 21, Maranatha Baptist 0: Rodney Allen carried 15 times for 122 yards and two second-quarter TDs for Lake Forest (2-1, 2-0).

Warren 21, Antioch 15: Brian Kuhan’s 34-yard touchdown reception of a pass from Ryan Kelver was the difference for Warren (1-2, 1-1) in the North Suburban game.
