Returning starters: 14: offense 9, defense 5.
Players to watch: RB Ryan Terry, WR Harold Jasper, OLB Matt Purdy, TE Scott Slutzker.
Top newcomers: QB Ryan Driscoll, DE Bill Ennis-Inge.
Outlook: The Hawkeyes figure to be a bit better than last year, when they dropped five straight in midseason before salvaging a bowl bid. The non-conference schedule is typically weak, so Iowans should expect to go bowling again this year.
