Village officials have agreed to allow a nursing home to build an addition and construct a separate building for the care of people with Alzheimer’s disease.
Americana Health Care Center, 1920 Nerge Rd., owned and operated nationwide by Manor Care Inc. of Silver Spring, Md., plans to build a 60-bed addition to expand services of the nursing home and to provide continued care for people in the advanced stages of Alzheimer’s.
The center also plans to build a a 56-bed facility on 1.9 acres adjacent to the nursing home that village officials agreed to annex.
