Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Sore wing: Right-hander Anthony Young has been scratched from his next start with continued soreness in his throwing elbow. Young rested his elbow five days after throwing just five innings in his victory Saturday. But he experienced pain when he tried to throw on the side before Thursday night’s game to get ready for a Sunday start that has now been scrubbed. “It felt better after I warmed up a bit, but they decided we should let it rest a while longer,” said Young, who had the elbow examined by doctors Sunday. “They just think it’s a little inflammation.”

Juggling things: Manager Tom Trebelhorn said he would move rookie Kevin Foster into Young’s spot on Sunday and decide later who to pitch in Foster’s place Monday against the Rockies in Denver. “We gave (Young) a week to rest the elbow so, yeah, it’s a little bit of concern that he’s not ready,” said Trebelhorn. “But right now we’re looking at him missing just one start.”
