Stalking suspect Stephen Jozefow’s petition for a bond reduction was refused in Cook County Circuit Court Thursday morning, said a spokeswoman for the state’s attorney’s office.
Jozefow, 41, a substitute teacher who lives in Des Plaines, appeared before Circuit Judge Joseph H. Romano in the court’s Skokie branch, said spokeswoman Suzanne Rollier.
Jozefow, who was charged July 3 with stalking a 7th-grade Des Plaines girl and who allegedly kept files on dozens of other girls, is being held in Cook County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
Authorities are interviewing other girls to determine whether additional charges are appropriate.
