Nine south suburban residents linked to a major burglary ring operating since 1992 in Homer Township face burglary charges, according to the Will County Sheriff’s Department.
The ring-which was responsible for the theft of tractors, drill hammers, hand tools and fishing equipment-targeted commercial establishments, according to Will County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Charles Malinowski.
Investigators uncovered the ring during investigations of other unrelated offenses, Malinowski said.
“They were small investigations that kept escalating and got wider and wider,” Malinowski said.
According to the sheriff’s department, the suspects who face charges including burglary and theft are Lockport residents Grant Parker, Darrin Affrunti, Brian Henry and Greg Dunham; Terrence Davis of Markham; John Mikrut of Worth; Rhonda Horn of Frankfort; Mark Waltzoni of Oak Forest; and Keith Kurtin of Orland Park.
