The final designs are in, and if the future Fairview Elementary School in Mt. Prospect takes on a homey look, well, it’s supposed to.
“The school is in a residential area, and the details we’ve designed add to a residential look,” said Brad Paulsen, project architect with Legat Architects of Schaumburg. Some of those details for the one-story brick school include bay windows and a sloped, asphalt roof.

The architects completed the designs last week and submitted them to the Elementary School District 57 board for approval.
Ground-breaking for the new school at 300 N. Fairway Ave. is scheduled for July 21. It is expected to open for the 1996-96 school year.
The company suggested the same design for Lions Park Elementary School, 300 E. Council Trail, Mt. Prospect.
