Two workers in the Postal Service facility died within hours of one another, evidently of natural causes, officials said Thursday.

Carol Stream paramedics were called twice to the facility, 500 E. Fullerton Ave., Wednesday to attend to two unconscious employees, who both subsequently were pronounced dead.

Kevin Bills, 35, of 2016 S. Seventh Ave., Maywood, a 15-year veteran of the Postal Service, reportedly had finished his shift as a distribution clerk at 10:50 a.m. when he collapsed into a chair. He was pronounced dead at 11:47 a.m. at GlenOaks Medical Center, Glendale Heights.

A spokesman for the DuPage County coroner’s office said Bills had a history of heart problems and was very obese. The death was classified as due to natural causes, and no further investigation was planned.

Sheila Jenkins, 34, of 235 S. Oak Park Ave., Oak Park, a 10-year employee and also a distribution clerk, told co-workers at 5:30 p.m. that she was tired and going to take a nap.

At 6 p.m. she was found unresponsive and taken by paramedics to GlenOaks, where she was pronounced dead at 6:55 p.m.

The coroner’s office said that there was “nothing suspicious” about her death but that an autopsy and coroner’s inquest were both scheduled.
