Law enforcement authorities made a plea to the public Wednesday for any information that could help them identify the torso of a woman found along a Bensenville roadway.

DuPage County Coroner Richard Ballinger said the torso appeared to belong to a woman who was younger than 30 years old. She had two tatoos: one of the name “Eric” and one with the letter “E” in the middle of a heart, Ballinger said.

The torso was found about 1:45 p.m. Monday by a crew cutting grass along York Road, just north of Thorndale Avenue.

Authorities said that the torso’s head, hands and feet had been cut off by a saw-like instrument and that the torso had been stuffed in a plastic bag and left in an area of tall grass. An autospy determined that the torso had been dumped 24 to 48 hours before it was found.

Anyone with information on the torso, or anyone who saw a vehicle stopped on the side of York Road from Thursday to Monday afternoon is asked to call Bensenville police at 708-350-3459.
