County Board Chairman Aldo Botti has decided to issue a controversial liquor license to a convenience store near Addison.

County Board members and local residents had opposed the request for a liquor license, sought by Jong Suk Park, owner of the Parkway Pantry, 4N115 Addison Rd., in unincorporated Addison Township. Opponents contended that under a former owner the store was a site of gang activity and underage drinking.

Botti said, “The sins of his predecessor cannot be used against Jong Suk Park.”
