A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office said police seized a piece of rock cocaine weighing 128 grams when they stopped the car for a traffic offense on Western Avenue near Golf Road.
Upon searching the driver, the officer also found a loaded, .38-caliber revolver in the driver’s waistband, Mateck said.
The driver was identified by police as Bryan Shephard, 24, of 9020 Capitol Drive in unincorporated Des Plaines.
