Kimberlee Blackmore’s pitching and the hitting of Missy Nowak and Jennie Bruno helped De Paul to five softball victories in six games last week.
Blackmore improved her record to 17-3 and lowered her ERA to 1.74 by winning three games as the No. 17-ranked Blue Demons split with Notre Dame and swept double-headers over Youngstown State and Cleveland State to improve their record to 37-12 overall and 12-2 in the Mid-Continent Conference.
Second baseman Nowak had two doubles and a triple and went 7 for 16 to lift her batting average to .464. Shortstop Bruno, who missed 14 games with a broken arm, returned to the lineup and had three hits and five RBIs.
De Paul plays Tuesday at NU, Friday at Western Illinois and Sunday at Northern Illinois.
