Village officials have announced that a special census, aimed at securing more state funds, will conclude Wednesday.
Trustee Bob Herrick said the census was needed because Frankfort, with a population of 7,200, has grown by more than 10 percent in the last three years. The village receives about $75 per person annually in state revenue sharing funds, Herrick said.
The census, which started March 16, was approved by the Village Board last fall and will cost $36,000, Herrick said.
Residents who have not been counted can contact the village census office at 815-464-6219 or 815-464-6083 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
