CARPENTER KILLED IN FALL AT COPLEY HOSPITAL SITE

A carpenter died Wednesday when he fell 15 feet and fractured his skull at a hospital construction site, Kane County Chief Deputy Coroner Steve O’Brien said.

James Brooks, 47, of La Grange, was pronounced dead at 1:42 p.m. at Copley Memorial Hospital, O’Brien said.

Brooks was working on a new Copley Hospital building at 2000 Ogden Ave., Aurora, when he fell through a floor opening onto a deck below, O’Brien said. Brooks suffered massive head and internal injuries.
