So much for keeping secrets.

WBBM-Ch. 2 news anchor Bill Kurtis, in a promo for the station’s 10 o’clock news show Friday night, revealed part of Tonya Harding’s problems several minutes before CBS aired the event.

Callers were told by an operator “the promotion was taped earlier.” And likely without any knowledge of the order in which the network showed Friday’s events, since CBS had been sending segments from Lillehammer piecemeal since the Games started.

The miscue, while not exactly revealing the results, irritated enough viewers who purposely had avoided any news earlier in the day that the CBS switchboard was inundated with calls.
