All will be under contract, one way or another, by March 11, according to Jack Gould, senior vice president/baseball.
“I don’t expect to have any problems,” Gould said Thursday. One, though, may be Hernandez, who saved 38 games last year, his first as a regular closer, and earned $195,000.
“They’re talking multiyear, but I don’t think it’s serious,” said Hernandez. “I’ll probably end up signing a one-year contract and wait for arbitration.” He’s eligible after this season.
