player ready...More comings-and-goings at the Arts Club of Chicago: The club, a noted venue for contemporary art exhibitions, says that it has hired outsider Kathy Cottong to fill the vacant position of artistic director and that assistant artistic director Irene Tsatsos has resigned. Tsatsos was hired a year ago by then-director Robbin Lockett, but Lockett and the club parted ways last July. Reached late Monday, Tsatsos said she had handled the duties of director since Lockett’s departure and had been one of several candidates being considered for the post. For reasons she didn’t disclose, she said she decided weeks ago to withdraw from the race and resign. She said she will continue to be affiliated with the club as an independent curator.
