News flash!
No. 1 Arkansas goes through week undefeated! Retains top spot!
Razorbacks first team in six weeks to achieve this feat. Succeed where North Carolina, Kansas, UCLA, Duke and North Carolina (again) failed.
Not such a news flash.
Seven Top 10 teams fall during the week. Five toppled by an unranked opponent.
No. 2 Carolina goes down at Clemson. No. 3 Connecticut goes down at Villanova. No. 4 Kansas goes down at Oklahoma State (and is upset at home by No. 12 Missouri). No. 5 Louisville goes down at North Carolina-Charlotte (and, in Orlando, to No. 13 Temple). No. 8 UCLA goes down at No. 15 Arizona. No. 9 Purdue goes down at No. 16 Indiana. No. 10 Massachusetts goes down at St. Joseph’s.
Comment?
Home, except for Kansas, is where the wins are. And familiarity, as in conference play, breeds upsets.
