Brandon Kelley scored 26 points Friday night as St. Joseph stayed tied with Marist for first place in the East Suburban Catholic Conference with a 76-65 victory over Marian Catholic.

The Chargers (17-7, 10-2) went on a 13-2 run in the second quarter to take a 47-30 halftime lead and led 63-43 after three quarters.

St. Joseph played without starters Rodney Horton and Elton Buster, who are academically ineligible but due back next week.

St. Patrick 58, St. Viator 47: Kevin Buford scored 20 points, Eric Galati added 15 and Scott Riley 12 as St. Patrick (15-9, 6-6 in the East Suburban Catholic) won the last home game in coach Max Kurland’s 35-year career. Kurland’s career mark-all at St. Patrick-is 654-274. He never missed a game during that span.

St. Ignatius 55, St. Laurence 53: St. Ignatius (18-5, 9-3) was paced by Kevin Bruno’s 23 points in the Catholic League. The Wolves used a 17-0 run midway in the first half and led 43-30 early in the fourth quarter. St. Laurence (7-15, 1-10) cut the defict to 54-53 with :26 left, but the Vikings’ missed a potential game-tying shot at the buzzer.

Sandburg 44, Reavis 37: Chris Beranek and Tanner Mitchell led Sandburg in the SICA North with 11 points apiece.

Shepard 68, Andrew 55: John Economos’ 20 points led Shepard to the non-conference victory.

Hales Franciscan 74, St. Gregory 61: Hales Franciscan (14-6, 9-1) clinched the Chicago Prep as Tywon Burnom scored 25 points.

Thornwood 78, Eisenhower 50: Jason Huisman scored 17 points to spark Thornwood (17-6, 7-3) to the SICA East victory.

Morton 70, Willowbrook 43: Morton prevailed in the West Suburban Gold as Pete Panos scored 16 points and Frank Turez 14.

Nazareth 63, Luther S. 44: Phil Palella scored 19 points for Nazareth (19-5, 14-2), the Private School League champion.

T.F. North 50, Tinley Park 45: Pat McCreight scored 23 points and Brock Small added 15 to lead Thornton Fractional North (9-0 SICA Central). Marcus Royster finished with 13 points for Tinley Park.

Seneca 50, Coal City 48 (OT): Adam Provance scored 15 points as Seneca (19-3, 14-0) completed Interstate Eight play undefeated.

Dunbar 54, Phillips 47: Dunbar received 14 points from Darano Hill and 13 from Robert Chaney in the Public League Red-Central victory.

Du Sable 64, Robeson 60: Demetrius Liberty scored 21 points, Cornell Shearer had 17 and Demetrius Davis 16 for Du Sable in the Red-Central.

Senn 60, Sullivan 50: Johner Wilson scored 17 points and Travaras Crayton added 14 to pace Senn (6-7) in the Red-North. Lendor Jones led Sullivan (7-6) with 15 points.

Gage Park 92, Englewood 72: Alfred Tolefree scored 22 points and added 12 assists to lead Gage Park (14-9, 10-3) in the Blue-Central.

Von Steuben 79, Lake View 26: Von Steuben (12-1 in the Blue-North) held such a big lead that Lake View coach Mike Mencynski pulled his team off the floor with :18 left in the third quarter.

Steinmetz 102, Juarez 46: Alexander Stroger and Dennis Green scored 16 points apiece to lead Steinmetz in the Blue-North.

Harper 78, Bogan 60: Harper prevailed in the Blue-Central behind Terrell Ingram’s 21 points.

Thornton 65, Bloom 49: James Johnson (19 points, 10 rebounds) and Kevin Jones (14 points) helped Thornton (14-7, 7-3) outscore Bloom 25-8 in the third quarter en route to a SICA East victory. Demond Bibbs led Bloom with 17 points.

Notre Dame 52, Carmel 47: Sean Anderson scored 15 points and Mike Palos added 13 for Notre Dame (17-6, 9-3) in the ESCC.

Weber 78, Fenwick 53: Willie Tate scored 27 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Weber (15-9, 7-5) rolled in the Catholic League.

Glenbrook N. 91, Maine S. 49: Bill Donlon scored 21 points as Glenbrook North (19-5, 8-2)wrapped up an undisputed Central Suburban North title.

Niles West 54, Waukegan 51: Jason Klancnik’s 21 points paced Niles West in the CSL South.
