Jamie Chaplinski hit a game-tying three-pointer with 15 seconds left, then scored four of his 11 points in overtime Friday night as host Kankakee upset No. 6 Rich South 81-76.

Corey Griffin (25 points) rebounded a missed free throw and fed Chaplinski for the tying shot. Rich South (18-2, 4-2) turned the ball over on its last possession of regulation.

Kevin Clemens (10 points) also scored four overtime points for Kankakee (10-11, 3-3), which never trailed in the extra session.

“Chaplinski did a great job in overtime,” said Kankakee coach Alex Renchen. “We tell him to be more aggressive offensively, and tonight he was.”

Tedaryl Fason poured in 39 in a losing effort.

Joliet 74, Lincoln-Way 65: Oku Satcher scored a season-high 24 points to lead No. 2 Joliet (20-0, 7-0) in the SICA West.

Mundelein 86, Fenton 66: No. 5 Mundelein (20-1, 12-0) opened its North Suburban victory with a 15-0 run and never trailed as all five starters hit double figures. Sean Stackhouse had 17 of his 25 points in the first half and Gerald Coleman’s 17 points featured three three-pointers.

St. Martin de Porres 53, Bishop McNamara 50: Jerry Gee hit two free throws with :05 to play and David Heideman’s desperation three-pointer missed at the buzzer as No. 7 St. Martin (19-3) narrowly averted the non-conference upset. Gee finished with 22 points and seven rebounds. Heideman (17 points) had hit a three-pointer with :21 left to bring Bishop McNamara (10-8) within one.

Doug Rogers added 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Carlos Miller contributed 11 assists.

Conant 100, Prospect 81: Corey Brown’s layup with 2:14 to play got No. 11 Conant (16-2, 6-1) to the century mark. Brown scored 15 of his 33 points in the second quarter when the Cougars broke the Mid-Suburban South game open. Rick Kaye added 16, Rob Cieslinski 14 and Mike Tierney 12 for the winners. Mark Ahern poured in 29 for Prospect (1-16, 0-7).

Brother Rice 70, Gordon Tech 65: No. 12 Brother Rice (16-4, 6-3) won its fourth straight, jumping to a 32-8 lead and hanging on for the Catholic League victory at home. Jim Sexton’s 28 points and 13 rebounds led the way. Rico Hill (13) and Britt Booker (11) also hit double figures, while Jovan Hubbert’s 13 points paced four players in double figures for Gordon (3-16, 1-8).

Naperville Central 32, West Chicago 23: West Chicago (9-10, 2-8) led 13-12 after one quarter of the Du Page Valley matchup, then held the ball and scored just 10 points the final three quarters. With 6:42 to play, No. 14 Naperville Central (18-2, 10-0) led just 24-21. But the Redhawks hit eight of 12 free throws down the stretch. Aaron Pembroke led the winners with 16 points.

Lake Park 51, Elgin 45: Trailing 36-35, No. 16 Lake Park opened the fourth quarter with a 9-0 run to earn the Upstate Eight home victory. Bob Ropondo and Ty Sander scored 12 points apiece to lead the winners, now 17-2 overall and 9-1 and in first place in conference. Corey Hodges’ 13 points paced Elgin (13-7, 5-5).

Rich Central 74, Bradley 57: Sean Mason and Jermond Remmer scored six first-quarter points apiece to help No. 18 Rich Central (17-4, 6-0) build a lead it never relinquished in posting the SICA South victory on the road. Mason finished with 19 points, five rebounds and four assists and Remmer had 18 points, eight boards and five assists.

“We wanted to make sure the pace stayed fast,” said Rich Central coach Lee Boyko, whose squad hit 18 of 25 shots.

Quinton James added 19 points for the winners, while James Terrell led Bradley with 19.

Hillcrest 73, Bremen 69: Tyrone Colbreath scored five of his 11 points in overtime, including a three-pointer on the first possession, to help No. 19 Hillcrest (17-3, 5-1) earn a SICA Central road victory. Rob Tustin had forced the extra session for Bremen (3-17, 0-6) by hitting two free throws with :03 left. Rodney Bean’s 18 points led five players in double figures for Hillcrest, while Trumane Hampton scored 17 to top four in doubles for Bremen.

Naperville North 75, Glenbard East 47: Sean Jones finished with 22 points and Jason Buckley added 20 to help No. 20 Naperville North (16-2, 8-2) hammer Glenbard East (7-12, 2-8) in the Du Page Valley. Glenbard trailed 27-19 at halftime, but Jones and Buckley combined for 26 second-half points to break it open.
