Village officials have granted zoning variances that will allow a company to build a theater complex in the Westview Shopping Center.

Kerasotes Theatres, a family-owned company that shows first-run movies and has been in business more than 80 years, will construct a 12-screen complex with 2,968 seats on 7.7 acres on the northeast corner of Buttitta and Frances Drives.

The proposed 47,233-square-foot building, with auditoriums ranging from 161 to 393 seats, will be accessible to wheelchair and hearing-impaired patrons. It will have six computerized box-office terminals and a 695-space parking lot.

According to village manager Scott Randall, Kerasotes will pay the village more than $100,000 for building permits, as well as tap-on and impact fees. The village also will receive $85,100 annually in sales- and property-tax revenues from the theaters.
