The Kane Council of Mayors is surveying its member municipalities to determine if there is any support for a proposal by St. Charles Mayor Fred Norris to move the Illinois Highway 31 designation west to Randall Road.
Council president and Batavia Mayor Jeff Schielke predicted that many of the cities and villages to be affected are likely to reject it.
Norris said the plan would free up Kane County road construction funds now pledged toward the improvement of Randall Road.
