Two to 3 servings, the equivalent of 5 to 7 ounces of cooked lean meat, should be eaten daily. One serving from the meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs and nuts group is:

– 2 to 3 ounces of cooked lean meat, poultry or fish. A 3-ounce piece of meat is about the size of a deck of cards (or the amount of meat in a medium chicken breast half or an average hamburger).

Count as 1 ounce of meat:

– 1/2 cup of cooked dry beans

– 1 egg

– 2 tablespoons of peanut butter
