Democratic congressional candidate Marty Gleason, whose nominating petitions had been challenged by one of his opponents, will definitely be on the March 15 primary ballot.
Joliet business consultant William Barrett, one of the seven Democrats in the party primary, said Wednesday that he is withdrawing his objection before the State Board of Elections.
Barrett said the board found an extra page of signatures for Gleason, giving him more than the 542 needed to qualify for the ballot.
The board is expected to decide Thursday on Barrett’s challenge to Dan Kennedy Jr., a Joliet attorney.
