Trailing by one point at halftime and after three quarters, Zion-Benton (12-2, 4-1) received a spark from Kiki Curry, who scored five of the Zee-Bees’ final 12 points, including a three-pointer and tip-in down the stretch, to give host Zion-Benton a 72-66 North Suburban Conference victory Friday over Fenton.

Theandre Kimbrough led Zion-Benton’s offense with 25 points, including six of the team’s nine three-pointers. Tony Petrovich scored 21 points and had 10 rebounds and Martin Jandura added 20 points for Fenton (5-8, 2-4).

“There’s a tendency for us to become too perimeter-oriented,” said Zion coach Don Kloth, whose team’s inside game kicked into high gear in the final quarter. “In the second half, we started to attack their zone better and our post men started to move better underneath.”

Maine East 47, Niles West 37: Chad Barnes helped the Demons’ offense with 16 points in the Central Suburban South.

St. Patrick 63, Carmel 47: Eric Galati and Brian Stasiek each had 17 points to lift the Shamrocks (8-5, 2-3) in the East Suburban Catholic.

St. Viator 67, Holy Cross 54: Mike Ansani scored 23 points and Brad Bowsher had 15 to lead St. Viator (9-4, 2-2) in the East Suburban Catholic Conference. Tommie McNeal had 20 points for Holy Cross.

Ridgewood 56, Elmwood Park 43: B.J. Cook scored 23 points as Ridgewood (10-3, 2-2) prevailed in the Southwest Suburban.

Oswego 43, Geneva 40: Ryan Ludwig (13 points) made a free throw with :51 left to make it 41-40, and Sean Madigan’s two free throws with :14 left clinched the Little Seven victory for Oswego (8-4, 4-1). Joe Burgdorf led Geneva (0-12, 0-5) with 15 points.

Naperville Central 79, Glenbard East 63: Naperville (11-2, 4-0) jumped to a 26-8 first-quarter lead and cruised in the Du Page Valley behind Kevin Thill’s 16 points.

West Aurora 44, De Kalb 42: Danny Eddy’s 12-foot jumper at the buzzer sealed the Upstate Eight victory for West Aurora. Eddy led the Blackhawks with 12 points.

Oak Park 62, Leyden 45: Idris Osei-Agyeman had 22 points to spark Oak Park (9-3) to the non-conference victory in Franklin Park.

Downers North 57, Hinsdale Central 44: John Lackaff scored 18 points and Dan Stokes added 15 as Downers Grove North (9-3, 3-0) won in the West Suburban Silver. Andy Leone had 10 points for Hinsdale Central (4-9, 0-4).

Proviso West 42, York 41: Telly Lowery had 14 points to lead Proviso (10-2, 2-1) in the West Suburban Silver.

Wheaton-Warrenville S. 55, Wheaton N. 54: Shawn Williams made two free throws with :12 left to lift Wheaton South (8-4, 4-0) to the Du Page Valley victory. Melake Belai had a game-high 16 points for Wheaton North (9-4, 2-2), which trailed 38-26 at halftime.

Maine West 73, Highland Park 70 (OT): In a Central Suburban North thriller, John Vana scored 15 points, Paul Just had 14 and Marcus Bates and Rob Goerne pitched in with 13 apiece as Maine West edged Highland Park in overtime. The Giants were led by Joey Carlini’s 25 points and Jon Pure’s 13.
