St. Joseph 59, Benet 47: Rodney Horton scored six points in a 10-2 run that lifted St. Joseph (10-3, 4-0) to a 51-38 lead on the way to the East Suburban Catholic Conference victory.
Horton, who didn’t play the first half for disciplinary reasons, had 10 points. Brandon Kelley led St. Joseph with 12 points and Marcus Betts had 11. Benet (7-6, 3-2), which led 23-22 at halftime, was led by Patrick Fagan’s 13 and Ryan Bartemeyer’s 10.
Sullivan 81, Mather 67: Phillip Hayes scored 19 points and Edward Doughty added 16 to lead Sullivan (5-6, 1-1) to the Public League Red-North victory. Kelvin Davis led Mather (7-5, 0-2) with 21 points.
Wheaton Christian 56, Luther South 51: Aaron Lunt finished with 20 points for Wheaton Christian (6-7, 4-3) in the Private School League. Luther South was led by Joseph Ellzey’s 21.
Marist 58, Providence 39: Dave Cahill scored 14 points to lead Marist (10-3) to the non-conference win.
Plano 71, Coal City 49: Brian Torkelson scored 20 points and Dan Grant had 14 to lead Plano (9-4, 3-1) in the Interstate Eight.
