Another upcoming “Next Gen,” airing later in January, features Paul Sorvino as Worf’s (Michael Dorn) foster brother. “Next Generation” (WPWR-Ch. 50, 6 p.m. Saturday: repeats 10:30 p.m. Sunday the following week): Against Picard’s (Patrick Stewart) orders, Geordi (LeVar Burton) risks his life to locate his missing mother, Capt. Silva La Forge (Madge Sinclair). Ben Vereen, Burton’s “Roots” co-star, appears as Geordi’s father, Dr. La Forge, in this repeat of “Interface.”
“Deep Space Nine” (WGN-Ch. 9, 6 p.m. Sunday; repeats 11:30 p.m. the following Sunday): In “The Alternate,” Odo’s (Rene Auberjonois) mentor, Dr. Mora Pol (James Sloyan), arrives on DS9 to resume his search for Odo’s origins. In the meantime, a mysterious creature wreaks havoc on the space station.
