A 19-year-old man from unincorporated York Township was electrocuted early Friday as he was climbing a utility pole in a friend’s back yard.
Eric Bucholz and two friends decided to climb the pole, in the 1300 block of South Lombard Road, said the Du Page County Sheriff’s Department. Bucholz touched an electrical wire with his forearm while climbing about 1:20 a.m., said a report. He was pronounced dead a half-hour later.
