Former Northern Illinois great Lisa Foss, the school’s all-time leading scorer with 2,500 points, returns to Evans Field House Wednesday as the women’s basketball team plays host to Athletes in Action in a 7 p.m. exhibition.
Foss scored 24 points Saturday in AIA’s 70-66 loss at Kansas. NIU (0-3) has been idle the last two weeks because of finals. The exhibition will serve as a much-needed tuneup for Friday night’s home game against Southern Illinois.
Linebacker Steve Wild and placekicker Brian Steger were first-team selections on the Big West Conference’s All-Academic football team. Wild, the Huskies’ leading tackler this year with 140, has a 3.35 grade-point average as a biological science major. Steger scored 61 points his season, second on the team, and the history major has a 3.59 GPA.
