Officials have created a category of liquor license allowing restaurants to sell a full range of alcoholic beverages in an outdoor setting.
The license is being made available only to restaurants that have a full-service license.
Ald. Rory Weiler, chairman of the City Council committee that monitors licenses, said a downtown sidewalk cafe with alcohol will attract people.
