City police and Cook County sheriff’s officers were seeking two men Tuesday believed responsible for holding up two motels Monday night in the northwest suburbs.
In the first incident at 7:18 p.m., two men in long coats and wearing latex Halloween masks, each armed with handgun, entered the Comfort Inn at 2801 Algonquin Rd. in Rolling Meadows.
They ordered the cash register opened and fled with $240 stuffed into a brown paper bag, said Deputy Rolling Meadows Police Chief Douglas Larsson. He said one man was tall, thin and wearing a turtleneck.

At 8:20 p.m., two men of similar description held up the Days Inn Elk Grove at 1920 Higgins Rd. in Elk Grove Township, said Penny Mateck, a spokeswoman for the Cook County sheriff.
Those robbers also had handguns and put their loot, about $300, in a brown paper bag. One wore a Halloween mask and a turtleneck, and the other wore a black ski mask, Mateck said.
