The Northern Illinois women’s volleyball team’s Fab 5-Nikki Kozak, Amy Vander Meer, Amy Foulke, Kori Schauer and Becky Ramsey-will be honored Saturday on Senior Recognition Night when the Huskies play host to Illinois-Chicago.

During their four-year careers, the seniors have compiled a 108-27 record, including this season’s 22-4 mark. Kozak holds the school’s career dig record with 1,325 heading into Tuesday’s match at Western Illinois. Vander Meer has played in 135 matches and needs just two more to become the Huskies’ all-time leader. Foulke holds the season record for solo blocks with 137 and career block assists mark with 386. Ramsey needs 16 ace serves to become the career leader. And Schauer needs 130 kills to take over the No. 1 spot in NIU history.

The men’s soccer team capped its turnaround season Sunday with a 4-0 victory over Valparaiso. Rob Grabko had two goals and Brian Hecht recorded the shutout. The Huskies, who were 1-4-1 in their first six games, finished the year 11-6-2. It marked their fourth double-digit-win season in five years. Freshman Sigurd Slaastad led the team with six goals and six assists.

With the Russia Select basketball team no more, NIU will instead play Ginestico of Brazil in its Nov. 17 exhibition in De Kalb.
