Libertyville hosts Stevenson in the second round.

Turnovers and mistakes hurt Libertyville early.

“A lot of times when you shoot yourself in the foot early, you lose your focus,” said Libertyville coach Dale Christensen. “But we didn’t.”

In the fourth quarter, Chris Fulbright hit Mark Russert on a 28-yard TD and Andrew Robertson (121 yards, 16 carries) broke a 49-yard touchdown run. Waukegan finished 6-4.

Conant 27, York 0: While Conant had no problem marching down the field, York moved into its opponent’s territory just twice. Corey Diemer put the Cougars (7-3) up 7-0 with a 13-yard run in the first quarter and Jason Ambrosen scooped up a fumble and returned it 28 yards for a 14-0 halftime lead.

Conant, which was penalized 13 times for 118 yards, padded the lead in the second half on an 11-yard pass from Rob Schader to Parad Patel. Schader (6 for 11, 54 yards), who rushed for all of his 48 yards on seven carries in the fourth quarter, finished the scoring with a 5-yard run.

Lyons 34, Whitney Young 20: Lyons (7-3) advanced to meet Marist on the strength of two first-quarter touchdowns sparked by the defense. Matt Farmer’s blocked punt led to a Nick Listello 1-yard touchdown and Jonathan Johnson’s fumble recovery preceded Treymane Clark’s 7-yard score.
