It’s being billed as “Stuff the Stands” night, and while the stands at Evans Field House may not be stuffed at 7 p.m. Tuesday for the NIU-Illinois State volleyball match, the fans that do show up will get their fill of good stuff. Northern (21-4, 13-0 in the Mid-Continent) is ranked sixth in the Mideast Region. ISU (18-6, 12-0 in the Missouri Valley) is ranked seventh in the region. NIU ran its conference winning streak to 37 over the weekend, sweeping Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Wisconsin-Green Bay.
The women’s soccer team concluded its first season Sunday with a 4-0 loss to Wright State. The Huskies’ home finale Friday provided a better memory, a 5-2 overtime victory over Northeast Missouri State. Freshman Amy Derry led NIU (7-9) with 20 points on seven goals and six assists.
