The city promoted two veteran employees to supervise the street and electric divisions, following up on the council’s rearrangement last month of the Public Works Department.
John Dillon, a 14-year employee, was promoted to superintendent of streets and water. Hank Vejvoda, a 13-year employee, was promoted to superintendent of the city’s Electric Department.

Dillon has served as water superintendent since 1987 and will take over streets when the current superintendent, Harold Hall, a 29-year employee, retires in January.
Vejvoda takes over for 20-year employee Gary Larsen, who was promoted last month to public works director overseeing the streets, electric, water and sewer departments.
