The man struck the Jewel at 50 W. Golf Rd. in Arlington Heights in August and the chain food store at 995 N. Elmhurst Rd. in Mt. Prospect at 8:51 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
Mt. Prospect Officer Bill Roscop said that in each case the man handed a note to a person at the customer service desk that read: “Give me all your money or I will shoot to kill you.” Police did not disclose whether he produced a weapon.
Roscop said the man in both cases “fit a pretty similar description: male black, about 6 feet tall, thin build, in his late 20s and wearing a light-colored baseball cap.”
