Brian Mores carried 20 times for 110 yards and Brett Carter carried 16 times for 98 yards and two touchdowns to lead Joliet (4-1, 2-1) to the 27-6 non-conference victory over Stagg.

“We were able to stop them and give our offense a little more confidence. The kids are starting to jell,” said Joliet coach Alan Greenberg.

Marist 41, Benet 21: Marist (4-1, 3-0) scored the final three touchdowns to break a 21-21 third-quarter tie and win the East Suburban Catholic Conference home game over Benet (3-2, 2-1). Marist’s Shane Davis had 24 carries for 165 yards and three TDs.

Thornridge 28, Bloom 0: Thornridge (3-2, 1-2) rolled in the SICA East behind the arm of Darnell Jones (a 7-yard TD pass to Tom Dawson and a 28-yarder to Raymond Fouchea). Joshua Bivens added a 5-yard touchdown run, while Oliver Schaffer wrapped up the scoring with a 26-yard romp.

Romeoville 15, Lincoln-Way 14: Justine Wooley rushed for 92 yards on 18 carries to lead Romeoville (3-2, 1-1) to a SICA West victory.

Providence 36, East Chicago 6: Joe Schley carried 26 times for 172 yards and three touchdowns to lead Providence (4-1). John Kite and Carl Roesler each had two sacks.

Waubonsie Valley 34, East Aurora 22: Steve Samsel scored on a 31-yard run and hit Darin Tiffay with a 33-yard pass to lead Waubonsie Valley (3-2, 3-1) to the Upstate Eight victory. Scott Racette scored on a 2-yard run and Tyrone Gooch on a 5-yard run to drop East Aurora to 2-3 in conference.

Fenger 40, Corliss 6: In the Public South, Fenger (2-0, 3-1) came out on top as Byron Jones (12 of 17 passing, 181 yards) connected with Bobby Perkins for two first-quarter touchdowns, receptions of 34 and 32 yards. Robert Queen (114 yards, 15 carries) added two touchdowns and Carlos Brown returned a fumble for a 13-yard score as the Titans jumped out to a 33-0 halftime lead.

Bogan 14, Curie 6: Richard Trammell pulled in a 21-yard TD pass from quarterback Matt Lesser in the third quarter to secure the victory for Bogan (3-2, 2-0) in the Public West. Lesser accounted for Bogan’s other score when he connected with Brian Enge for a 7-yard TD in the opening quarter.

Phillips 20, Tilden 0: Enoch Smith rushed for 133 yards on 13 carries and scored touchdowns on runs of 31 and 63 yards to lead Phillips (1-3, 1-1) in the Public League Central.

Lindblom 16, Hirsch 14 (OT): Stefahn Jasper’s two-point conversion run in overtime was the difference for Lindblom (2-2, 1-1) in the Public Southwest. After Greg Davis’ 10-yard TD for Hirsch in overtime, Lindblom’s Joseph Anderson tied it at 14-14 with a 1-yard plunge. Anderson’s 71-yard TD in the fourth quarter and Jasper’s first two-point conversion gave Lindblom an 8-6 lead, but Hirsch tied it with a safety on a botched Lindblom punt attempt with 3:20 remaining.

Rich Central 21, Bradley-Bourbonnais 20: DuVon Davis sprinted in from 49 yards out in the fourth quarter as Rich Central (2-3, 1-0) eked out the SICA South win. Kenny Carter tossed a 24-yard scoring strike to Eric Mance and David Knuckols returned a fumble recovery 35 yards for the Olympians. James Terrell returned a kickoff 82 yards and ran in from 18 yards out for Bradley.

Simeon 28, Julian 26: Simeon (3-1, 2-0) rallied from a 20-8 deficit in the third quarter to win in the Public League South.
