Bulldog: Nickname for Harrison Ford’s co-star in “The Fugitive,” WBBM-Ch. 2’s John Drummond.

Cam-jammers: Photographers, a k a shooters.
C2N: WTTW-Ch. 11’s “Chicago Tonight.”
Doing a Ewing: Delivering a suspect to the police, a specialty of Channel 7’s Russ Ewing.
Doogie: WMAQ-Ch. 5’s Dick Kay, though he hasn’t been a child prodigy in a long time. Actually, it was the nickname of an Army sergeant cousin of Kay’s back in Arkansas.
Fish: WGN-Ch. 9 sports reporter Rich King.
Going to the 5th floor: Doing an interview with the mayor.
Governor No: Gov. Jim Edgar.
If it bleeds, it leads: The unofficial motto of Channel 2 news under a previous regime drawn to murder and mayhem.
Jay walk: The annoying tendency that reporters have to walk and talk at the same time, perfected by Jay Levine when he was at Channel 7.
News babes: Channel 2’s Miami gals Joan Lovett and Penny Daniels, a k a She-devils.
Scary Larry: Channel 2’s Larry Mendte. May have something to do with his attempt to show the effects of a hurricane by standing in front of a big fan. Also, Crazy Larry and Larry Mental.
Silk: WGN sports anchor Dan Roan.
Skippy: Fox-Ch. 32 news anchor Walter Jacobson.
