A new employee benefit plan approved by the Woodlands Elementary District Board will maintain the current level of benefits but save the district an estimated $90,000 next year.
District 50 sought and received numerous bids on employee medical, dental and life insurance plans before deciding Monday night to join the Niles Township Benefit Co-Op. The plan, which will be administered by Blue Cross/Blue Shield, includes a 17-month cap on rate increases, noted the district’s assistant superintendent, Bill Linning.
The new plan will become effective Aug. 1.
