Not every major road in Lake County is under construction-it just seems that way.
The summer roadwork schedule is so heavy that for the first time, the county’s Division of Transportation is coordinating its construction schedule with those of the state and townships.
“We’ve got everything above the village level coordinated-for once,” said John Sauter, the county’s senior engineering technician.
County roads already closed to all but local traffic include Alleghany Road, between Illinois Highway 120 and Peterson Road; and West Winchester Road, between Midlothian Road and Illinois Highway 83.
