The Illinois State Toll Highway Authority on Tuesday advised motorists to stay off the eastbound East-West Tollway in the vicinity of the Tri-State Tollway during certain late-night hours over the next few days.
The lanes will be closed for up to 30 minutes at a time for bridge-beam placements, the authority said.
Work on the Tri-Level bridge, which carries the Tri-State over the East-West, is scheduled to start at 11 p.m. Thursday and go until 5 a.m. Friday. It will resume for the same hours Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. If the work moves quickly, however, the Saturday-night job may be canceled.
