Police are searching for an armed robber who held up Park National Bank Saturday morning and fled with a bag of money.

The bank at 2100 S. Elmhurst Rd. was robbed shortly after opening for business at about 8 a.m., police said. The robber approached a teller station, pulled out a blue steel handgun, and demanded money. The teller complied, and the man fled on foot.

Police described the suspect as between 25 and 30 years old, 6 feet tall and last seen wearing an olive green knit hat, light blue jeans and a maroon coat.

Police would not disclose the amount of money taken from the bank.
